R&D: Robot's eye

Piezoelectric Robot's eye: application of high resolution 3 degrees-of-freedom piezoelectric actuators/sensors to rotate the "eyeball" (miniature CCD camera)

PURPOSE
It represents the Robot's eye in which a miniature CCD camera ("eyeball") can be deflected in 3 directions by controlling just the topology of the electrodes connected to the signal generator.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Here are used piezoelectric actuators based on the concept of active kinematic pairs. This concept describes a wide class of multi degree of freedom kinematic pairs with links made from active materials.
